USA Aluminum Folding Door Project

Do you know why this folding door is so popular in the US? It's a project for one of our Derchi customers, a 6 panel designs aluminium folding door for patio doors, which is actually still quite distinctive. What advantages do folding doors offer over sliding doors?

Higher space utilisation and more flexible opening. Aluminium folding door adopts multiple door hinge connection, can be completely folded and pushed to one side, the opening rate is as high as 90% or more, completely eliminating the doorway obstruction. It is especially suitable for small balconies, kitchens or narrow passages to achieve ‘seamless connection’ and enhance the sense of permeability. In contrast, the sliding door can only open 50% of the width of the opening, there is always a part of the door blocking the view, spatial flexibility is limited. Folding door track is usually installed on one side, after folding only occupies wall space, without interfering with the two sides of the activity area; while the sliding door needs to reserve wall space for left and right sliding, which is more friendly to the layout of small house type. The folding door of DTU adopts extremely narrow border + large glass design (such as with acrylic or toughened glass), with simple and light lines, which is suitable for open kitchen, balcony partition and other fashionable scenes, and enhances the sense of space level. Adopting magnetic strip + multi-strip sealing design, although still slightly inferior to the sliding door (especially sound insulation and heat preservation), but has significantly reduced the gap leakage problem. Equipped with zinc alloy bearing hinges + reinforced hinges to reduce the deformation and sagging caused by long-term use; pulley system to join the wear-resistant design to reduce the maintenance frequency.
